I'm El Capitano in these parts. What I say goes. This is my little slice of public domain in which I blow off steam as I see fit. You don't have to read it if you don't want to. I have opinions you might not agree with. I cuss a lot. I've probably offended some readers, and no doubt will again. But it's your choice to be here. You're always welcome to stay, but I won't hear you complain when ignoring me comes as simply as a mouse-click.

That said, this is NOT me.

Essentially, Joey is a fictional character. She's the part of my personality I don't mind you getting to know. She's a version of me. There's plenty about me I'd rather you didn't see. I'll share what I choose to share - no more, no less. Form an opinion of me, by all means. But should you ever meet me in person after reading my blog, don't be shocked if you discover that what I say and what I am don't quite match.

I write about real people though.

I do tend to mention people by name. Luckily, the people I write about have internet presences of their own, and so naming them here would be a non-issue. That said, if your name crops up here and you're not happy, tell me and I'll fix it. However, I do reserve the right to refer to you here by a hilarious nickname.

Conversations are great. But I cry when people say nasty things, try to preach to me, creep me out or use my poor blog as advertising space. I reserve the right to delete comments I dislike - like I said, this is my site. So:

I love it when people link back to me. Not only does it make me feel appreciated, but it makes me want to take the time to look at the person who's linked me. That's only polite. So, feel free to give me some link love. By all means, pass on bits of the site you like. But if you steal any of my writing or graphics without permission, I will hunt you down and spank you with a cactus. Dented Nerd is covered by a Creative Commons licence - you may share for non-commercial purposes as long as you link back, and you don't alter or expand on my work.
